Supercharging Startups:

India’s global leadership

58,379 start-ups are currently listed on DPIIT of which approximately one-third are digital. Importantly, India is ranked second globally for the number of digital start-ups in existence with Bengaluru holding the honour as one of the top three start-up destinations in the world. At present, the sector employs approximately 5.7 lacs individuals. A few digital start-ups, such as PayTM, Nykaa, and Policy Bazaar, are expected to raise a cumulative INR 30,000 Cr from their respective IPOs. Currently, in India, there exist 66 Unicorns and 30 Soonicorns; the combined valuation of these Indian unicorns is touching INR 17.81 Lac Cr.

For us at IAMAI, the story has just begun!

With three-fourths of start-up members, partnerships with leading digital start-ups over the last 15 years, experience running accelerators for the last 5 years, and as prime movers of the VAS, eCommerce, payments & fintech policies, we are at the forefront of promoting digital start-ups in India.

In our view, there is infinite headroom for growth!

Digital start-ups will drive our economy: Investments, solutions, employment, enablement, and empowerment will come from them!

We need to continuously recharge our digital start-ups through the critical 4 Ps:

a. Policy

Technology and data-related policies should primarily focus on building a robust data and digital economy by keeping Indian start-ups as their primary focus. In this track, we will hear from policymakers on how start-ups are being promoted through supportive policies.

b. Platforms

Platformisation serves three key functions: a) taking services to people, b) increasing internet use cases and c) offering plug & play opportunities to start-ups. In this track, the focus will be to understand from leaders of platformisation processes what is on offer for start-ups in various sectors.

c. Passion

Entrepreneurship, especially in digital tech, is driven by the passion of the founders. In this track, we shall hear directly from these founders how to convert one’s passion into scaled-up business models.

d. Planet

The key to successful entrepreneurship is staying ahead of the curve by innovating and taking the first-mover advantage. In this track, experts will talk about technologies, issues, and opportunities of tomorrow.
